It was held in Singapore Khalsa Association. The venue is under Punjabi India.
Subra tried to explain that in Indian society, there are different kinds of “group” too. Just like how Chinese got Teochew, got Hokkien etc etc.
It was a simple affair where not more than 20 tables were prepared and a buffet style (of Indian food) was laid.
I think this is a thing that runs in the wedding habit la.
Weddings never start on time.
From 7pm we waited till 8pm+ before the “solemnizer” came and sat at a table with the bride and bridegroom and proceed with that usual, “Will you ___ take _____ as your …”.
After the, “yes I would”, the buffet started.
Pity I can’t eat much. I had food poisoning the day before so wouldn’t quite want to risk being the merlion again.
Dinner was held for like an hour or so before the emcee start to involve everyone in games, simple games like treasure hunt and all.
Then for those who participated in the treasure hunt, there was a dancing competition.
Its so amusing! Get to see old Indian uncles dancing the Indian dance! I am highly amused.
After the game, we had a yum-seng session. And that was pretty much the end of it.
The rest of Planet Traveller came after 9pm just about the time for the yum seng session.
Took a couple of photos, waited for Keith to come by and that pretty much marks the end of my Indian ROM experience.
I heard like Chinese, they will have another wedding sometime later, this is just the ROM ceremony.
